I'm just doing a pricing guide update for a plain concrete slab of the type used for a typical garage base, and I've been a little surprised at some of the prices I've been quoted for ready mix. From what I've been told this afternoon, there's nearly 20 quid per cube difference in price between that London (and environs) and the north-east of Engerland.

How much are you paying for concrete? Assume 20 Newton mix, 4m³ pour, 50 mm slump, OPC, poly-fibres included.

i laid a shed base at a school in high wycombe, and it had to be done on a saturday.
Being a school, no outside tap, no way of mixing up by hnad, so i got a price on a 1m or readymix. £252+vat

I took drums of water, a generator and did it by hand.

Assume 20 Newton mix

is that a gen3?

If so looking on a price list for a small local firm i use, its £87 per m, with £5 per m extra for the fibres

Our prices have just gone up to these figures and they are now the same as we were getting 5 years ago although what we pay for our bulk cement has gone up 36% and aggs average 30% Plus the rise in fuel prices....think ill have to move my operation to High Wycombe !!!!!!

Belfast £55 +vat per cube if you collect yourself
Delivered adds about £10 per metre per 10 mile round trip although for small loads I have paid the guts of £100 per cube that really broke my heart. Don't know what the fibres cost.
Can't see it from my house
