Hi again.
I mentioned in an earlier post that i intend to lay block paviours around all outer edges of my garden as a mowing strip but i need a little advise.
Would it be ok to lay them tight up to a retaining wall thet has been back filled with 20mm limestone chippings with approx 4"soil on top?
I was intending to lay a concrete strip 250mm wide by 75mm thick tight up to wall to lay paviours on.The chippings come out from wall around 400mm ish.Opinions please.

Lay a strip of geo-textile over the gravel backfill. Assuming your mowing strip is to be 100mm wide, use summat like 300mm wide strip and make sure the blocks are on min 100mm depth of good concrete. This will help the structure bridge and slight settlement, but if there is significant settlement, nothing will stop the blocks/mowing strip going down with it.

Thanks for info tony.I was intending using block pavings but sticking out from wall length ways 200mm i think they are (standard block paving brick) but like i say the witdth of the void that has been back filled is around 400mm so do you think i need to bridge the full 400mm to make it less likely to sink?
