Basically the excavations for my new drive were too deep and after about 100mm of scalpings he intends to lay the blocks on 200mm of sand. The blocks are the high quality type and are very thin. As a layman I feel that there will be too much chance of movement - or am I worrying too much?
You are right to be concerned. The British Standard covering the construction of block pavements insists on no more than 50mm of sand bedding. 200mm is excessive and I can guarantee that you will have terrible problems with rutting, channelisation and settlement in next to no time.
