We're finishing on the 20th (if all goes to plan!) and then back on 7th Jan

What are you guys up to? I'll be doing stuff around the house in amongst drinking large amounts of wife-beater!

So looking forward to the break......I need it :O

finish 21st back on the 2nd. probably fix the toilet seats for what seems like the millionth time ( anyone know the secret of keeping them on tight ) and door handles.... same amount. is it just me, or are they made to fall off these days? :p

Loc Tite seems to work ok...
but acidy substances make it wear thin after a while....

I was just at a friends house with a new toilet and the seat drops slowly on it own when letting down the seat ... very cool

Changed six internal doors this year, bloody handles are always coming off.

That will teach me for buying cheap crap for B&Q (and for having teenage daughters) knocking lumps out of the house :p

I finish up one the 20th, got the 21st off paid as the xmas bonus. Dont go back till the 7th. Unfortunatly i dont have enough holiday days to tide me over so will be a relatively sober holiday :(

In the past I've tended to use a bit of silicon around the threads and around holes they locate into before tightening them up. Obviously, if they have screw heads try not to get the silicon in the slot or cross.

The thing about using silicon is it should prevent the bolts wearing loose due to use but is also easily stripped when the correct bolt is properly untightented (it also provides a little bit of corrosion resitance and if you use the sanitary stuff then it should stop the fungus setting in :-))
