Summer house base

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

What is the best way to make a base for a summer house.concrete or slabs.The ground is firm size 1.8 x 2.4.Would i need to lay a course of dpt1 or concrete before laying slabs.What is the best way to work out the total matrials i would need.great site

Is this a brick-built summer house or one of those gloriied timber sheds that some people like to call a 'summer house'?

For the latter, I'd use concrete flags, laid on my usual 10:1 bedding mix, and only use a sub-base if there were problems with levels or iffy ground.
