Do you think its worth getting involved in Drop kerb and tarmac crossover work?, I've done a few with Mccabe but I've had few jobs recently where the customers have had the council into do it first (and paid big money for the privilage) Do you need a larger public liability and some sort of certificate?, I assume there are many guidelines and the council have carry out a survey beforehand. Anyone had any experience?

An honest answer?
No!
Dropped crossings are a pain in the arse; there is no money to be made in doing them, it is more of a 'service' we provide.
Insurance and street works certification required. Then you've got to buy/collect/transport small amounts of tarmac locally - a right waste of time. Not to mention you have to deal with retarded members of the public whilst doing the works.
Am I being overly cynical or what??

watched a neighbour of mine cut out his own and do it himself... the council said nowt, and I just watched him make a glorious mess of it all, with bags of soft tarmac etc. I suppose I should have asked what he was doin but I am a great believer in live and let live particularily as he is an obnoxious ..... at the best of times iykwim:D
