Pic - damp patches showing at joints

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

HI,

I'm wondering if anyone can give me a suggestion as to why there seems to be damp areas showing at the point of the joints of my patio. We had this work done in August and the patio was sealed in September. Since then there are patches of white which i beleive will dissapear in time and after rainfall, what i think are damp patches have shown up. I've gone back to the firm who carried out the work but can't get any explanation.

Can anyone help ?

Thanks
Rachelle

It's almost impossible for us to comment on projects we can't see. If you have damp aggregating around the expansion joints, then the first question I'd ask is whether these joints were ever sealed with mastic or similar?

I've seen one or two, but I mean "one or two". They are all supposed to be mastic sealed, but very few PIC installers ever bother.
