Base for granite laying - Concrete st1 or dry ?

;yes largerlout repenting already, when the 2 small 300mm slabs go together ( change colour for design ) it throws up a slab larger than 600mm, so some are butt jointed and others are now gapped! Bit of a b----x up but still looks good.
Have approx 15 M2 of the 100 laid will lay another 8 tomorrow, then we will go onto readymix as the lads are knackered. Con saw blade wore out today had cost approx €80 and did approx 20 cuts of kerb 150mm granite, suppliers quoting 280 euro for professional blade, any comments|?

why all the cuts to the kerbs? look on ebay for diamond blades. you should be aiming for joints on all. some butt jointed and others jointed will look odd. you should of bought a laying plan off the gaffer.

sadly kevin you do need a special blade for granite ,my mate does granite floors and that,and he pays £140 a blade
also water cooling helps
as sean says tony's design service is very efficient and saves you money on cuts etc

thanks for the info on the blades will check out ebay, We cut the 150mmX150 kerb to suit conditions, and cut again to create curve as rec by tony at 3 mtr radius we cut from 1000 to 3 X 300 on a number to create nice curve. The butt joints are where I am changing colour granite from fame treated to natural so the joints are part of the plan, all on cad and looks ok, no my mistake was to ignore advise ( if only this is the last time this will happen ) and try for no gaps, but it is looking ok, bit of guntering but I am very happy with screed and laying on the concrete base now so all shoud be ok in about 4 weeks, standby for the photos
