Well I had a really nice guy come to site today from easipoint, who gave me a demo on their gun injected wet mix pointing
I have been a fan of using a gun for pointing in patios for a long time now, but the trouble I have been having is getting hold of uncontaminated soft sand. youv'e only got to have one piece of stone in it, and the gun blocks.
With the easipoint system, they use a silica sand, and various additives that make the morter flow even through a 10mm nozzle.

The guy sent out a sample pack, and it contains 10 small blocks of mortar, all different colours that they sell.
Basically, it comes in 25kg bags, and you mix it up with a drill mixer in a tub with approx 3.5l of water to a bag, leave it for about 5 minutes and you are ready to point.
After 45minutes, it's ready to joint up.

By the end of the day, the pointing had set so hard, it couldn't be disturbed.
I have ordered enough to do my 60sqm of 5 size slabs, and it comes overnight providing you order before 3.

It is such a speedy way of pointing, that you can do 10sqm in about 25minutes

I will post some pictures of the finished work when its done.

well it comes in 25kg bags and you just add water and mix using a drill attached stirrer in a tub. They do 10 different colours.
Now i have the colour sample pack, i will let the customer choose which one they want
its their own mix of silica sand and various other ingredients that flows nicely through a gun
to be fair, it was still wet when the photie was taken so it will have dulled down now its dried

Always wanted to try a pointing gun myself, got one last week and to be honest it was quicker using traditional methods. Water leaks out as it has to be quite a wet mix ..

you have not got it adjusted correctly. tighten the screw slightly on the plunger. this will push out the rubber stopper that forces the mix out.You also need plasticizer and can only use soft sand. Also, cut the end off the nozzle to make it wider
With easipoint, you get no blockages and you can use a 5mm nozzle!
persevere, and it will work!
