Hi, great web site!
First posting, I’m just starting my own project, doing the donkey work before hopefully getting a pro in to do the blocks, but after spending time on this site it’s giving me the confidence to have a go. Maybe!

Anyway back to my problem, living in a 30’s semi I’ve started to clear the front and want to have the blocks up to the front of the house where there is wide block of ‘concrete’, in sections, (see pic’s) which I first thought, get a breaker and remove. I started and found the concrete had a top (approx 25mm) layer and then a thicker layer below. I’ve been told that it could be structural to the property and not just a slab. I can’t find any info, can anybody help? Can it be removed?

Can't for the life of me see that as structural.......going on what I see in those images.

alot of 1930s semi had that type of concrete around the house as a pathway . but to be on the safe side break a section out by the house if you can still see brick behind rip it all out . hope this helps my house also 1930s had sme type of old path

From the first picture it looks like a Hilti 110V jobby as hired from most good (and some not so) rental shops, but I may be wrong....

looks more like a good old 950 kango from before they started making them out of plastic...bdinkadinkadinkadinkadinkadink

go for silly money 70 quid on ebay, new carbon brushes at about 8 quid, and bob's yer uncle, another noisy new toy to annoy the neighbours with
