Compacting bedding layer

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

Hi can anyone tell me if it is worth compacting the bedding layer? im laying 600*600 flags

the bedding layer gets compacted when you tap the slab/flag down
