was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with working out some quantities for a small job, ive got a garden wall to render, roughly 20m/2, cant think on how to work out how much sand/cement i need to cover for a sratch coat and float coat. also any advice on mixes, i was thinking of going for aprox a 3-1, but any advice would be great.

cheers, mark.

i always struggle a bit working out rendering but if you say 15mm of render thickness, thus
20m2 by .015 = .3m3 so at 15mm thick .3cubic metres= .6 tonnes of render so that would be 24 bags of sharp sand at 25 kg per bag
and 8 bags of cement
and a lot of waterproofer, say 10 litres

so 24 bags sharp sand
8 cement
10 litres waterproofer
ronafix or pva
beads

hope this helps
