Hi
I have a chipped collar on a 6" clay foul pipe, just as it is going into the inspection chamber. The collar has a piece missing about 1.5" square and the inner pipe is seen with a small gap into the drain where the collar joins to the next pipe.
Can I just simply use a 3:1 mortar mix to repair it. The rest of the pipe seems fine.
How do i repair chipped collar on clay pipe

Thanks for reply flowjoe,
mainly digging with a breaker and shovel as the whole drain run has been set in a semi dry concrete mix, but the fork helps loosen the aggregate once Ive used the breaker a little.
Im moving the drain across about 1.5 foot to allow me to put my kitchen foundations on top of the original drain run.

Agreed - I've seen (and done!!) much worse. As Joe says, bit of plastic and wetmix, you'll be fine.

Thanks Dave and Sean or ruby
I am planning on using the pipe close to the inspection chamber as shown to link across to the new pipe using two 30deg bends. The BCO says that this will be OK as long as I move the inspection chamber at the top of the drive. I am hoping to suggest that Instead of this I link across at the top with two 45deg bends and put in a new rodding eye.
as shown, do you think he will accept this?
