Sub-base and rain - Getting the sub-base wet

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

Hi all,

I have had a search but cannot seem to find the exact answer I am looking for.

I am planning on laying some Flags my self for the 1st time and would like to know

Once I have laid the sub-base down and had it compacted, do I have to finish the job? With all the rain in england at the moment I do not know if I can allow it go get wet???

Help greatly appreciated.

the subbase is allowed to get wet, aslong as it isnt all spongey and mushy when the time comes to pave it, it should be fine
