aye it had a weighbridge ticket, they load up with loading shovels, and basically guess when they have enough on then go to the weighbridge. The load was 9160kg. But i can honestly assure you, if it was dried out there would be roughly 5 - 6 tonnes. I went past their yard today and noticed a huge puddle that spans all of the bays where their sand, hardcore, topsoil and washed gravel is kept. No wonder it was all soaking wet.
Ian: not as im aware, but one of our drivers got done for overloading a couple years back because of rainwater. He picked up 2.5 tonne of topsoil on a friday afternoon, ready for going out on monday with it. It rained all weekend and on the monday he went out with his van and loaded trailer, cops pulled him, took him to the weighbridge and was about 200 kilos overweight. When he produced the ticket from the friday they said it doesnt matter, that was then but this is now.

I expect the loading shovels have auto-weighers built in.....you'll see them shaking off the excess load prior to dumping it onto the delivery wagon.
