Fantastic site! Need some help on how best to construct a brick wall edging (approx 250 mm high) to a large slab patio. If I do this last am I risking upsetting the sub base & bedding layer? Do I construct the same concrete bedding as for a single brick edging, haunch in the first brick and then build up or is there a better way?

Eh?? If you have a wall as an edge restraint, it needs to be built before the paving is laid.

Any tips on how to measure and locate the exact end wall position before the slabs are laid? I'd like to have a single brick at the top of the wall edging the slabs rather than having the wall running underneath. Trouble is this doesn't leave any margin for error in joint sizes etc. and I'd rather not cut the final slabs if poss.

well if your slabs are say 600 by 600, then allow 600 +15mm (joint) per slab plus a final 15mm for the end
thus say 8 slabs = 4800 +120 +15 =4935mm between wall and house

Thanks LLL. I get the maths, but not so confident I can get the wall in exactly the right alignment to meet up!! I'll check the 'measuring out' pages again.
