Wacking - Best done wet or dry?

Other groundworks tasks, such as roads and footpaths, terracing, fencing, foundations, walls and brickwork, tools and plant.

Have got to wack about 112 sq m. of type 1.
With the weather the way it is at the moment just wondered if being wet will reduce the efficiency of the wacking.
Will it take more passes?
All advice gratefully appreciated.

No significant difference. Compaction is supposed to be done when the aggregate has what is deemed to be an optimum moisture content. This means that aggs can be too wet or too dry for optimum compaction, but, in all honesty, unless you were building a critical pavement such as a motrorway or airport runway, I wouldn't worry to much about it.
