Hi,
or should that be help!!
I have a cottage in Caithness/Sutherland and would like to lay a natural stone path around it as at the moment it is gravel. I have looked at Caithness stone, very pricey, in the region of £60m2. Some of the Indian Sandstone looks great but would I be able to get it delivered.
If anyone knows of a reputable company who would deliver up there could you please let me know. I would imagine the further North they are based the cheaper it would be!!

Many Thanks: Paul

It really depends where you buy it from, merchants will deliver for a fee, although i know of one company who deliver around Edinburgh & the Lothians for free to all customers.

When you are getting quotes for your material, ask if they would deliver :)

Awright mate I did my days as an apprentice up your way working with caithness stone. Have you ever thought of crazy paving Caithness stone lends itself to it beautifully. Get yourself up to the quarries with a trailer and grab all the broken and spoiled bits and you'll save a fortune done it manys a time. Living in Ireland now and been a few years since I was up your way so I don't know which quarries are still open. There used to be a couple of tiny father and son operations going on they used it to subsidise their farming income. Go direct if you can and avoid the sales office if possible. Alternatively try Highland supplies on the Longman Ind Estate in Inverness there is also a Jewsons there they should be able to order paving for you. Slainte ma Halich ( cheers my friend) :)
Can't see it from my house

As Pablo says, try Jewsons, if that branch doesnt have it they will order it in for you, might take a little longer to obtain but their pretty good that way.

Company in Edinburgh are called The Bulders Supply Co. contactable on 0131 443 4474.

If you still have no joy, and the material is a fair distance from you search the web for Return Loads. I know a couple lads who have used that service to get stuff brought up from Devon. Can be pretty handy.
