Hi,

Please can I get some advice as to whether my plan for my patio looks OK? Plan as follows, using dutch buff sandstone flags:

100mm well compacted hardcore
Layer of sharp sand to compacted depth of 35mm
Bedding slabs onto 25mm thick slightly wet mortar layer
Pointing with semi-dry mortar mix

Does this look OK?

Many thanks
Ramsey

looks fine but you can lose the 35 mm of compacted sharp sand as that is superflous
if your subbase is good, you dont need any other layer other than the bedding layer
might be an idea to blind the hardcore with sharp sans before compacting to make sure voids are filled

cheers LLL :)
