Report on fence panel shortage
Looks like my 4 6'x6' panels (seconds) for £20, 3 months ago, was quite a good deal !

Ive done some work at Grangemouth Docks and i was reading over the line from Jewsons and it stated that their timber pricing was going up due to a shortage, this was a few months ago mind, and just at the point, when i looked up from the line to see a boat being loaded up with 10s of thousands of logs destined for somewhere far afield. Its like we get rid of our timber only to ship more back in :rock:
Anyways; i had to go hunting last week for some basic slats for a fence, nothing fancy, brown 1.8x150 boards. Tried our local sawmill, none, then went to nearest merchants, none, another merchants further afield, none. Ended up 30 miles from the yard still with no boards, everywhere i went had virtually nothing, no posts, no rails, no boards. Only thing that seemed to be in abundance were sleepers. Needs to be sorted tbh
