Roro skip hire on road?

Has anybody ordered a Roro skip for their excavated driveway material?
My driveway is thin concrete with about 12" of sand underneath it and so all this needs removing before I put my MOT back into the hole...

So bearing in mind a builders skip can't be used for sand as it weighs too much, and hiring numerous smaller skips would cost a fortune, the only good skip is a ro-ro.

However with these being 2.4m wide and I believe highways regulations permit skips of up to 2m wide they are a little wide to go on the road. I can't put it on the driveway as the drive is getting dug up.
Has anybody had any experience of skip companies turning a blind eye to a skip parked on a quiet road for maybe a week?

The only other way round this is to dig the drive out, pile the material at the side wrecking the rest of my garden, fill it with MOT right up to the top and then get a skip delivered and placed on the fresh MOT. I would hate to move 15 tonnes of sand twice though!

A fella local to me excavated his front garden, used the road outside his house to store the material, then when he had finished he got a "grab truck" to collect and remove.

Id be inclined to pile up the waste as close to the front as possible, and as nelly said, hire a grab wagon to remove the material, easier than filling a roro skip. You will need to check if they will lift from your property or from the road only though, some companies round here will not lift or drop off material inside someones property for H&S reasons i think.

Yeah a grab wagon is an option...thinking about it that sounds like a plan. I can then excavate all the driveway maybe except the very front part and I can pile it all up there near to the front gate. The remainder can go into a normal skip.

I'll look into it. Waiting on a quote for a ro-ro now. Only problem is I'm digging up 27' of driveway! That will be hell of a pile! It's going to be a bit of a job this driveway is! Then I've got to work out exactly how much MOT to order and if I get too much that needs to be disposed of too!

I'd go for the grab (or grabs) and then get a normal skip for the last bit of waste tbh. You will need a skip for the buiding work anyway once the excavations have finished.

The grab can bring your hardcore too at the same time.

i have had st albans council ringing me up at 10 o'clock at night telling me to move a skip,so i would say this is not a good idea
get a machine in ,he can dig one half then dig the other then pile it all at the front
is your drive 27 feet or yards?
