Sandstone flags over ashphalt.

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

I want to lay to sandstone flags over some old ashphalt. Its in generally good nick although a little un level after 40 years, and I want to know if I bed the flags on a full mortar bed will that be ok. I was hoping to not have to rip up the ashphalt and start again. What do you hexperts think?

yeah your right and I kinda knew what I should do, at least with my new 8 ton kobelco it won't take long to get rid of.
