My m8 wants to take out his floor boards and replace with screed. Have i advised him correctly.... wack existing ground,place sub base and wacker that, place membrane on this. Now put fibre board all round the wall to height of concrete. Place concrete 50ml low to allow for screed. or does he need anything between concrete and screed, i e polystyrene, thin gauge membrane, anti crack mesh etc?

Insulation, certainly. There's a new Building Reg (is it Part L??) that covers this but, as it's not directly relevant to paving, I skimmed through it rather than study it in any detail.

floor construction is as follows
100mm subbase wacker
50mm sand
1200 gauge DPM
100 mm jablite or similar, with 25 mm vertically going up to DPC level
100 mm C25 concrete
50-75 mm screed (we normally go for 75 to allow pipes and conduits to have the necessary cover
