Using black limestone indoors

I am about to start a kitchen extension. As we live on a farm and are always indoors in muddy boots, I am looking for a product that will be hard wearing, does not stain, seldom needs mopped - prefer to sweep. Anyone got any advice on a good cheap. I am considering using outdoor paving slabs. Got a sample of black limestone, which I worry will stain. Got a sample of black slate, which I worry will chip. Help!!! ???

if its that bad bridie ceramic tiles are probably your best bet
any kind of stone ,be it lime,sand,granite,marble,travertine needs care
so i would say ceramic or quarry tiles
