Foul and surface water, private drains and public sewers, land drains and soakaways, filter drains and any other ways of getting rid of water.

It had to happen. A long weekend approaches, I've been burning the candle at both ends to try to catch up with everything so I can have a couple of days in me garden while the weather is good, and then the bloody kitchen waste starts overflowing.

I jetted it, and no real improvement, so I got the son & heir to lift the MH cover in the middle of the drive only to be welcomed by a chamber full to within 200mm of the top, and the obligatory bits of corn floating in the brown soup. Not sure where the corn came from - we've not had it for months!

So, instead of sorting out me fuchsias, I've got a morning with the drain rods and smelly gloves ahead of me.

Nasty, we had this a few weeks back when sorting some stuff.

A quick call to a lad we know at dyno rod sorted the prob - £20 done and dusted.

Once i get most of the MOT out of the drain ill be giving him a shout to jet it all clear.

Njoi Tony, think of the cool beer at the end of the job

Regards

ps Sunday & Monday will rain anyway ;)
Thankyou

It was a Friday late afternoon on a new build. i was battling against time to finish a patio. site agent asked me, to look at a drain that was blocked ( people had moved in ) . They were all there, husband, wife and finishing foreman. i took the lid off the pot and it was full ( corn also ) . Do i waste time getting the gloves, or, take the plunge? with a pint of Guinness waiting for me, i took the plunge. Without being to graphic i pulled out a brick and the lot went, disturbing the smell and leaving my arm....well i will leave that up to your imagination. ill never forget the site of three grown ups, retching, throwing up and choking with the smell etc. i cracked up as i went off to wash. never did get a drink off them.

I have this “problem that I have little or no sense of smell. OK I get grief from the GLW when I don’t notice the new perfume, but when it comes to changing nappies or clearing drains it’s a definite advantage.

Clay loo pipes, cracked by root growth, every three months or so, lid off, sainsburys packets, (dishwashing gloves not long enough), down on your belly, reach as deep as possible into pipe and pull out lengths of root grown in rich well watered ***, and the kids stand around (well off) and say, Is there anything we can do to help? Something like 8 years of that, then buy a town house so that it becomes someone elses problem.
Been there, done that.
