Polished sandstone - Slippery when wet?

Hello,

I like the look of polished sandstone but know nothing about it.

The house I'm in has a DIY swimming pool in the Garden that I'm thinking of re-instating. It needs new coping stones and paving stones around it. Does anyone know if the polished sandstone gets particularly slippery when wet?

If it's polished then it's slippery.

It all depends on the sourcxe: some of the best quality polished sandstone has surprisingly good SRV data when wet (SRV = slip resistance value), while some is little better than an ice rink.

Where are you sourcing this stone? Have you asked them for SRV data? If they look at your blankly when you ask, find another supplier.

Pavestone, who STILL owe me money, are one of the biggest suppliers. They really went to town with it a couple of years ago, but it didn't sell as well as they'd hoped, so they should have plenty left over.

Perhaps the poorer-than-expected sales are the reason why the don't settle their invoices, despite repeated requests.
