I am replacing an old patio which had been laid on a concrete base. The base is in good condition but it only gives me 50mill to play with for slabs and bedding if I am to maintain the 150mill below damp course.
To achieve this I have purchased natural sandstone 25mill Riven Paving which are all cut to 25 mill plus/minus 10%.
Given the thinness of this paving would I be better laying them on a mortar bed or will 25mill sharp sand 10:1 dry bedding be OK.
If the later, bearing in mind its going on a very dry concrete base will sufficient moisture bed drawn up to cure the bed.
Any advice greatfully received
thanks Jeff
