Hi. I want to lay a Bradstone Circle (2.4 metres dia) in my lawn adjacent the herbatious border and about 2 metres from my neighbours leylandii hedge. The soil is a light sandy loam, free draining over a lens of compact pebbles.
Bradstone recommend digging out 150mm, laying 75mm of concrete on hardcore and setting the slabs on 25mm mortar. This seems excessive for a lightly used sitting area.
Can you recommend an alternative foundation? ???
