Not sure about Resiblock distribution in Ireland, but for Indian Sandstone, I prefer to suggest Lithofin MN StainStop, which is specifically manufactured for stone, rather than concrete blocks. You should be able to get hold of Lithofin at Woodie's DIY or Chadwicks Builders' Providers.

Thank you for the reply tony, would you consider Lithofin MN StainStop as effective as resiblock? From reading the description of resiblock on this site it seems like the industry standard, i'm am having a new patio installed soon and i'm looking for a product that will stop weed growth on the joints.

Resiblock is one of the best for pressed concrete paving, but for stone paving, I prefer the Lithofin. Horses for courses, as they say, and ther is no one single sealant that's best for all paving. Resiblock is fine for CBPs, but, IMHO, Lithofin is better for stone.

the sealant has nothing to do with weed growth ,thats the job of the bedding layer and pointing,i use a 35-60 mm wet bed for injun stone and a 3:1 mortar mix (semidry) for pointing
no weeds so far (8 years and counting for injun patios)
cheers LLL :)

As LLL says, weeds shouldn't grow through properly constructed paving, but there's nowt to stop them settling onto the paving, and no sealant can prevent that.

See the Dealing With Weeds section on this page
