The contractor we have employed to concrete an area at the side of our house had the readymix driver back up our tarmac driveway. This has caused part of it to sink and crack.(it isnt a perfect driveway anyway but it is going to be several years before we can afford to rip it all up)

Who's responsibility is it to rectify the damage, the contractor, the ready mix company or the housholder ?

thanks mtk

the driver would not back off the highway unless the contractor asked him too ,so its down to the contractor
we had a similar situation where a lady asked for a skip to be put right next to her house, but she didnt tell us the pikeys had done the drive with a 20mm of 6mm sma on top of mainly mud.
as she asked the driver to back off the road it was her loss,in your case unless a prior arrangement had been made then its down to the contractor,if we suspect tarmac in any way we always cover ourselves by getting it in writing from the homeowner that the drive is sound
cheers LLL :)
