Complete novice here, quick question, how do you convert feet/metres into sq metres? I have measurements of 7.5m
Talking to a trade guy in B&Q yesterday, he has told me to lay plastic sheet/membrane down first after I have turned the existing soil and levelled it.
He then says that as we are not putting a car on it that sharp sand is OK for the base, and then once the slabs are layed that we should broom in kiln dried sand as a kind of pointing material.
Also, is it better to lay your edging slabs/bricks before you compact the soil/sand for the main area of slabs
Please help, sorry for my ignorance, give me a PC and I'm a whizz, but this is the first time I have attempted to do this sort of work.
Measurements & materials - Heeeeeellllppppp!

B&Q guy - do you think if he really knew how to lay flags that he'd be working for minimum wage at B&Q?
