Colour wearing off?

We had a patio layed sep '06 and I have noticed that around the edges of the slabs (Bradstone old riven autumn gold), the coluur appears darker as if the colour is wearing off, this is also appearing where we walk most. Has anyone here got any suggestions/solutions?

That looks like damp, rather than picture-framing. How have the flags been jointed?

The slabs were dry when I took the pics. It does look like damp on the pics though. I will take more tomorrow. on the previously posted pics you can see the darkened areas, this discolouration shows on other slabs in the middle of them, particularly at the front of our rabbit hutch. I am assuming this is due to wear and tear. There is also one slab which has a raised corner, this one has the same discolouration and is very shiny.

I dont know the construction we had someone do it (FMB registered) so I assume it was done properly.

Bradstone reckon on it being differential weathering. Googled this and it appears this is a thing which happens to minerals not concrete.

The flags were laid on sand /cement base with nothing in between in the joints . I gather some paviors fill in some dont.

had a quick search of the forum and came across posts about picture framing from what is said I believe this is the prob. what can be done about this?

e-mailed Bradstone about this and their tech people say it is indeed picture framing and will lessen in time. Thing is, it isn't mentioned by anybody at time of purchase or is in brochures. Hope sale of goods act can be used here!!!!

nearly all paving should be pointed with something,the paviours that dont fill in are just pulling a fast one,the type of slabs you have,i would normally lay with a 10-15 mm joint then point in with mortar or rompox
