I want to buy a hand screed-er to run over screed rails the telescope ones are 470 pounds are they worth the money or are there cheeper ones I am getting tired of useing wood on my knees any help would be greet . :(

I just have a 2m ali and a 4m ali. Got them 2nd hand off a PIC contractor in financial trouble. I think new they were about £60 for the 2m and £100 for the 4m. I paid £40 for the two.

A telesopic one sounds good though. Never seen one of them.

The cheap telescopic screeds have a nasty habit of sagging in the middle, where the two sections meet. I have a set of ali screeds, single piece, in 4 different lengths that do for most jobs using screed rails and have an adapter that allows them to be set up to screed off kerbs or existing edge courses. Lovely bit of kit but cost me over 400 quid at the time, and other than looking 'professional' it's no better than a length of straight timber.
