Resin bonded paving recommendation

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

Can anyone recommend a contractor in the N-W of England, (Warrington area), that can lay a resin bonded aggregate driveway for me? (The sprinkled aggregate onto resin system, rather than fully coated).

Looking to do a 50m2 area and will be having a concrete base laid ahead of the work.

I've contacted Ronacrete and they were totally unhelpful just stating that they no longer do domestic driveways!

Two Brew Cabin Irregulars undertake resin-bonded surfacing in the Occupied Former Territories of South Lancashire:

John @ Aintree Paving in Liddypool

Ken @ KGC Paving in Leyth

I'll alert the pair of 'em to this thread.

Being in the construction trade myself I appreciate what you're saying and hence why I was also getting a brand new concrete foundation laid too, so I will hopefully be getting the best from your product.

I'm also asking for referals on this forum for reputable contractors too.

One thing that I am failing to understand in your reasoning is why a domestic driveway would be any different to any other commercial project? Yes I can understand the problems arising if laid by some 'cowboy' outfit, but you being reputable contractors, surely you would not lay your surfacing onto a substandard sub-base and would explain the fact to the customer. If the customer is not prepared to deal with the sub-base problem, then you have the right to walk away and refuse their custom.

So in a nutshell are you saying that I shouldn't bother with this coating on my drive?

No problem.

I like to think I'm not just Mr Average Public when it comes to construction, having worked in the industry for 25 years, allbeit heavy civils, but you learn the same tricks ;o).

.......and yes I was looking to get it sealed too, can't imagine why anyone wouldn't TBH.

I would certainly welcome being 'pointed in the right direction' and fully appreciate that quality costs.

to whom it may concern,i have seen it (a different brand but RBG ) laid in a 350m2 public carpark 6 years ago ,and i think it still looks rather fetching, yes there are a couple of patches etc .but considering the heavy use i think it looks better than block paving or tarmac would have looked after this time

To be brutally fair, it should be pointed out that ladyconcrete is the office manager for Superior Driveways, but is unfamiliar with message board etiquette and omitted her credentials due to inexperience.

The product she mentions, and indeed her own company, are highly reputable and worth investigating further if you're interested in resin-based surfacing
