Hi
New to this site - I want to create a new patio using Carpet Stones. Do I need to have a hardcore base? or can I use a screed and lay the carpet tiles straight onto the screed. If I lay a screed do a need a hardcore base under this? Sorry to be so naive but am trying to work out a cost for what I would like. Area will be 6 x 3m approx. Many thanks in anticipation.
???

Sub-base of 100mm Type 1 aggregate or similar.
Laying course of 10:1 grit sand with cement, dry mixed, no added water

Lay Carpet Stones and tamp into laying course

Joint using chippings, grit or summat like Romex/GftK
