wondered if you guys can give me some advice, I'm doing a garage base, 29' x 10'.
Ive done the shuttering and put down and compacted the crusher run, which i think is all OK,
The thing that worries me, is that when i see pictures of the tramping being done, there are always two people doing it, one on either side of the slab,
but this base is right next to a fence, so that wont be poss,
i wondered if the solution would be to divide the slab up into say 4' sections if you see what i mean, might make it easier..
this is the first time ive dont anything like this , so please excuse my ignorance..
i'll see if i can post a picture..
ps..i know one solution would be to remove the fence the panels, but i'd rather not, difficult neighbour, lol
thanks in advance...jeff
hmmm...cant seem to work out how to post a pic
Garage base problem.. - Not much room to tramp !

Thanks Matthew !
And do you think I should divide the slab anyway, maybe into 3 sections, or just do it in one go ?
Also...I know a builder who said he would come and help do the tamping, as to be honest i'm a bit nervous about that part, visions of me buggering it all up..
But he can never seem to spare the time, and im worried that the weather will get too cold, plus the garage company ( pudsey) are snapping at my heels because they want to deliver the garage....
So , Should i attempt it on my own, well my father in law will help, or should i wait till i can get expert help ??
hmmm
