Is there minimum number of Meters2 to be covered before machine lay is an option?

Yes - although it is variable....
You have to take into account the haulage costs etc - this is largely dependant upon how for the machine has to 'travel' to you.
We have machine laid jobs locally to us where it would be uneconomical for a contractor further away to do the job, if you see where I'm coming from.
Yes - machine laid surface will be far superior (in the hands of a good crew, anyway!) but don't be put off by hand laid material.....
