Kiln dried sand for pointing

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

I have a couple of bags of Kiln Dried Sand...was wondering if I could use them for pointing some 450mm square slabs with a 3:1 mix...... :)
Builders sand always seems so yellow... :(

i have tried it and it doesnt knock up very good,you could use white cement or add lime to the mix to make it lighter
