Can anyone suggest what i can use to remove stains from new patio slabs caused by a product made by Bostick called Cementone? This product is a wide jointing compound that was used by my paver and it has badly stained over 50% of my patio. The slabs are Marshalls Heritage range in Calder Brown and we have tried using fairy liquid with white spirit and also a non acid based patio cleaner. Some of it is coming off but there are some very stubborn areas that dont want to move.
Can anyone suggest anything we can try without damaging the slabs?
worst case scenario is that they have to be taken up and replaced.

brick acid mate, available from all builders merchants, you need to have clean water available to wash it off as soon as the stain is removed or it will bleach the slabs
be careful with it,it burns!

I think B&Q sell one that's not so strong.

many thanks for that advice. i went to my local DIY shop and got some brick and patio cleaner that is acid based and we didnt leave it on as long as it suggested and hosed it down straightaway and it has worked a treat and doesnt appear to have damaged the flags at all.
i am so relieved and when we replace the jointing compound (not Cementone i might add!) i will have the patio i have dreamed of!
