does anyone know where abouts you can, if you can, get internal floor recessed covers so that wooden flooring or similar could be fitted, its for a a kitchen floor where access is needed to access stop cocks etc, dont want to lay wooden flooring throughout and find that it all needs to be lifted to access one stopcock.

Cheers,

Mark

All the ones I've seen are purpose made with the same wood to minimise the joints, a good carpenter - a doddle. Darby's sell galvanized and plastic recess trays but the abutment between tray and frame would look unsightly,IMO. Look at them yourself and see what you think.

cant the stopcock be moved to a better location before the floor goes down?? any sort of access panel you leave will look unsightly unless you get a joiner on it.
think laterally(sic)

Under the floor is no place for a stopcock anyway. I don't know what the etc is but you should get the cock moved to a more accessable place.
You're entitled to the work, not the reward.
