i find that the dpc on the extension to my house is actually already BELOW the level of the concrete path that runs around it. I was planning to use this path as the base for laying slabs. Would the recommendation be to break through the concrete next to the house and lay in a work-around solution below the dpc? (sounds painful to do). The extension is about 10 years old and yes, the rendering on top of the walls above it peeling off extensively. (Is there such a thing as adding in a new (higher) dpc or is this an ignorant question?!
cheers

Hi Bob, thanks for your reply: I'm pretty confident that it's the damp course as it sticks out from the bricks (black plastic thigammy) in a line of mortar (also interior floor level is much below the path). However I shouold say that the path is 1.5m wide and runs around 3 sides of the house, so may be about 25m in length and I was hoping to find an easier and less drastic solution that breaking it all up!
