Hard standing for dog kennels - Which concrete?

I need to create an 8' x 6' hard standing for some small wooden dog kennels to sit on, and to create an area for the dogs to go to the toilet on.

I figured C20 concrete would be good enough for this job, with a depth of 100mm, however when phoning round for ready-mix quote I was told I need C35.

Any comments?

I would have thought C20 would have done the job tbh. I would have put down C20, not unless someone else knows why...

c35 is normally specified for oversites,and i suppose as the kennels will be open to the elements(to some extent witha run) plus the dogs urine and faeces,
maybe a tougher concrete will be better,not masses of difference cost wise
it might be an idea to seal the concrete to make cleaning easier
i know my farmer mate had a problem with rats under his dog run oversite because he used hardcore (bricks) instead of type 1.
it drove the dogs mad
