Just laid my first patio with second hand concrete flags laid in a staggered bond pattern. It's 50m2 and I've left a joint of about 8mm between them. It was laid on a screeded bed of 10:1 mix and I want to use a very dark grey mortar.

I'm grouting it this weekend weather permitting and was going to use the coloured ponting method described my Tony on this link http://www.pavingexpert.com/point04.htm.

However a neighbour has got one of those mortar ponting guns and I just wondered if they are any use or any good and are they any quicker?

If anyone has had any experience of these I would be grateful

Cheers

the guns depend on what you use for the pointing, if your using mortar they have a tendency to clog up if the mix gets too dry, other products are available which are made for the pointing guns, some of the other guys on here have had experience using them and they will know the products better.
