in a petrol ststion just outside brighton 5.30 in the morning. a scruffy looking bloke with wrinkled suit in front of me. on the floor next to him a £20 note. i picked it up and gave it to him without thanks he took it and went outside and got into a top of the range b m w. driven by what would of past as a model. as i get a coffee another man walks in (obviously a grafter like us) he asked if anyone had found £20. the cashier looked at me as he seen me pick it up. but all i had was two cash bags with £10 in each, the look on his face as i gave them to him :p thats not the end because i had left my wallet with my credit cards at home and couldnt pay for my fuel. in the end under threats of calling the police and me getting knicked for bilking i had to phone my wife who drove 25 miles to bring my wallet. i ended up losing £20, a days wage and bonus also because i hadnt booked day off i lost my weeks subsistence allowance. next time i see money on the floor even if an old woman is stood there you can guess what i will do?

There is a con going on in some service areas which goes like this:
You are approached by respectable looking woman who claims to have put fuel in her car and then found her purse/credit cards/cash is missing. Asks if you could possibly lend her £30 and she will send it to you. Really convincing - offers watch as security - has some ID.
You hand over cash - refuse watch - end of story.
Beware

You're entitled to the work, not the reward.

i had a prick come up to me at watford gap claiming he had run out of fuel and needed a fiver to get to brum
i said that was conveniant running out in a service station on the motorway??
he started getting lippy so i did what had to be done
TBH sean i think the guy looking for the score may have seen you give it to the other guy, i think you just had one of them days mate
anyway on a high note, we finished a job yesterday for a very posh jewish couple=very nice people
anyway the lady comes out with the cheque for the work £10 and a bit and then turns around and gives me a ton and the 3 lads £60 each
absolutely gobsmacked is the only way i can describe it,the apprentice nearly fainted
so it just shows that stereotypes can be very far from what you imagine, i try never to judge people on first appearance ,although its tough sometimes
anyway im off on me hols now so you lot have earnt a rest from my activities for at least 8 days
happy posting
regards LLL
