Hi
Just finnished laying my patio following Tonys instructions to the letter, i think ! Anyway all went great until a couple of days after when the base (50mm 10:1 dry layed on 90mm mot) had started to harden some of the flags started to wobble slightly on the corners, i have not pointed them yet will pointing cure this ? if not what is the best solution.

Cheers Guys

I Have a similar problem.
Bradstone Mixed Carpet Tiles set on a base of 6:1. Some are wobbly.
Do I have to lift each wobbly tile, scrap out some of the hardened base and replace with fresh dry mix then relay and bed the tiles. or is there an easier way.

I have not yet pointed and was also wondering if pointing with maybe Romex Easy might sort it.

When I lay slabs, I always relay any rockers before pointing.

If you just go ahead and point them it may well firm them up for now, but there is a chance they will crack later as they do not have a uniform bed beneath them to help support them.

best 2 lift them and relay on a strong wet mix

for the time it will take it is much better 2 do the job right now or u will be siting there looking at cracked slabs 5 years down the line i know i have been there

andy is right, thats why i always use a wet paving mix ===> no rockers, dry mix is ok for experienced people but i personally do not like it,no matter how good you are there is always a rocker (except on council flags)
btw welcome back andy, you been away???

it was a bit of a love job IYKWIM but the footing (dug and concreted by me alone) the 2 twisted piers and 6 m of freehand flint work took me 6 working days,so isuppose if i ahd charged full whack it would have been about 2 grand (the joys of in laws eh?)
as it was the flint came from suffolk,£600 for 4 tonnes and the bricks are freshfield land bricks, about £350 a thou and the tiles i got out of a skip for the creasing
i did the same wall in brick and me and my mate were done by 1 in the afternoon
flint is soooo slow its unreal
cheers tony LLL :)
