Saddle onto 6" salt glaze for 4" underground

Foul and surface water, private drains and public sewers, land drains and soakaways, filter drains and any other ways of getting rid of water.

Hi, I wish to saddle onto a 6" salt glaze pipe with a view of ending up in 4" plastic underground, could anyone tell me if there is a correct fitting out there to use for this, and if so where I can purchase it from (make etc), also what would be the correct procedure for cutting the whole and fitting etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! ???

Traditional saddle fittings are generally frowned upon by the powers that be, and are usually only accepted as a last resort on larger pipe work, this is because of the affect a poorly fitted saddle can have on the structure of the host pipe.

It is as easy to splice a junction onto a 150mm pipe as it is to install a saddle fitting correctly (unless the host pipe is surrounded in concrete).

There is the following product on the market which is accepted by building control Fernco Saddle, but as stated above i would usually install a junction, there is a page within the site showing how this is done.
