Wooden fence posts in tough ground - Post fixing dilemma

We have to erect a wooden picket fence 25m in length and 2m high, in what is part of a tarmac car park. We dug down through the tarmac and the hardcore under it ( 6-9 in ) and found the old carpark underneath with yet another layer of tarmac and a layer of hardcore. To get to 2ft down about a foot square, took one man and a mechanical digger, all day. We have 20 posts to sink. Would it be secure enough to just dig down to the level of the old carpark ( 6-9 inches ), use steel boxes and concrete them in ? The kind of steel box I had in mind was the kind that you might bolt on the surface of a concrete plinth, because they are robust and have splayed feet. What do you think? Thanks

no mate they are rubbish
all fence posts need to be 2ft down
you can get pneumatic breaker attachments for diggers and augars,my mate john the digger reckons to do easy 100 post holes a day with his augar but obviously you need the breaker attachment to get through the crete
all them met posts and all that are crap IN MY OPINION

your opinion on met posts and other similar fixings is shared with me Tony, as you said, peckers and augers take no time with those conditions.

oh and i forgot ,do yourself a favour and use concrete posts,these dont normally fail unless someone hits them in a car

They're a damn sight heavier, I lumped 30 of them into a back garden the other week

Agree though, far superior to wooden posts.
