Is this stone any good - What about the company?

tempted to get 50m2 of THIS for my little patio.

Does anyone know of these guys? Does the price to stone ratio look about right?

for 50 m2 i can get raj green (which isnt really green) for about £1100 delivered

ps you dont really want the 560 range its a pain in the neck
600 range is better

why is 560 a pain in the neck? you just lay it like any other paving. Size doesn't matter. (though thats what the missus tells me!)

if you read up on this site about random layouts thr 560 range can get really tricky.the supplier i use is not going to get any more of it as every one wants the 900 range.think about it 900 600 450 290 they all kinda tie in together
if you have used both ranges (which i have in the last month) then 900 range is much easier to lay in random patterns===> less 30 mm joints etc
i take it you are in the hemel area and the bloke i know is near luton so its worth shopping around
btw he has got a load of 560 range "seconds" that he is doing for about £10 a m inc VAT. he said that they experimented with making the flags look antique and it ended up with some small white dots on them

If you are using the 560mm size of flags, the other sizes should be 280mm , 840mm, 420mm etc etc
So the pattern and laying style will be exactly the same as laying 900mm, 600mm, 450mm and 300mm sizes of flags - only smaller
You will not have bigger gaps

The only problem you will have is if you are using different flags of different sizes ie some are 560 by 560 and some are 600 by 300 some are 450 by 450, some are 280 by 280 Then you will have biggers joints, but you should only be using sizes of flag that are relavant to each other.

If you are buying different sizes of flags your supplier may be using different types of flag to make up the order.

i spoke to the guy vilesh (summat like that) and he said basicaly because a standard path on new build tends to be 900 plus most existing flags are 900 or 450 most ppl go for that range
he was at a loss to explain where the 560 range came about
obviously our 900 correspond to the old 3' flags etc etc
you would think india being an old colony they would have the same sizes ,but i suppose their trains run on a different gauge track

And, of course, 450 is near a dammit to 2 foot. Personally I think the 900, 600 etc range is more asthetically pleasing (summat to do with golden ratios I think).

560mm is about 22 inches - perhaps someone just thought a different size set would be a sales idea. India has been metric since 1956.
