Indigestion when slabbing - General stuff

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

hi all
did another 25 m2 patio of indian sandstone yesterday and by 2 o'clock was feeling sick as a pig with indigestion
i take it this is from bending over all day and have tried many remedies,but none seem to work
anyone got any tips on how to avoid this please
btw i am 17 stone so i spose the weight doesnt help

sounds like a hiatus hernia. i had it for years. had to knock the booze on the head especially the luton lager :D .
was on tablets for a long time helped a bit. what cured me i was on an intense programme job. used to leave house at five in the morn and get home 10 or 11.00 at night flat out alll day. 5 hrs travel six days a week. needless to say i lost two and a half stone in 9 months. no pain no pills since except the odd rennie. see your dr m8. good luck.

and what was your starting weight?
the hours you were doing sounds dickensian mate??
and yes alchohol probably does it no good,but i only get it when slabbing never on brickwork no matter how low

you must of been going some to do 25M2 by 2 or am i just slow! lol Even with 2 of us at it (1 mixing and 1 laying) best we can doin a day is abou 12 tr 26 tops (deping on how much cuting we have to do.)

wall was built previous weekend and aco drain and mot were all in place,it was a matter of turn up at 7.30 and go ,i always use a line for slabbing and i am sure this is quicker than the wood method.
plus because i worked out the pattern beforehand there were no hold ups and only 8 cuts
re: hiatus hernia
probably not a good idea to drink 12 magners the night before

14 stone soaking wet. would of been longer hours but it got dark
:laugh: think about it the difference between slabs and bricks .... the weight of course. best of luck at weight watchers.

Ha! I was going to mention the alcohol route - Friday mornings for me after a good night out skittling (and drinking!!) makes for a very sick feeling Friday :laugh:

Have now given up the Thursday night 'sauce' :p
