I am looking for some advice on constructing a new entranceway in concrete. The existing entranceway is of compacted hardcore and crushed stone and is hard from 20 years of use. I have have laid terracotta pavers to provide an edge and plan to use 30 N concrete dyed black as a contrast. I estimate that I need about 7 cu M. Domestic traffic and an oil lorry once a year is the expected traffic. Do I need to use reinforcement for this project? if so what size? should I use fibres in the concrete and would this mean that I could omit the reinforcement? Should I use a plastic barrier under the concete or can I pour on the existing driveway?
Great site. thank you
